Deciding it was time for make a change in my career, it wasn't a decision I took lightly. I worked with the same RE/MAX Brokerage for 7 years and was very happy with the relationships I developed with my co-workers but something was missing. I wanted to grow professionally and needed to find a brokerage that would support my goals. For six months I interviewed with city, and even county based brokers, to no avail. I could not find the right fit. This all changed when I met with the management team at RE/MAX Preferred.
I've known Julie Gochar for my entire sales career first as a co-owner of Obsidian Realty and then as a manager and coach with RE/MAX Preferred. I have the utmost respect for her professionalism and drive. After meeting with her and learning more about the office, I knew that RE/MAX Preferred was going to be my new home. There was simply something about the office that felt "right" to me. The atmosphere and environment alone sold me on the office, and the competitive commission plans and broker support closed the deal.
Once I made my decision, there were still uncertainties as I, like most people, are reluctant to change. These butterflies subsided immediately as I set my office up and realized that this office had what I had been searching for, a sense of camaraderie, a sense of professionalism and a sense that everyone in the office wanted not only to be successful but for you to succeed as a team or individual as well. There are so many wonderful things I could say about the office from the altruistic aspect, the team building, the inventive ideas that are shared among the entire office and of course the location that I honestly can't just focus on one. After all, where else can you settle outside on a nice day overlooking the water? Truthfully though, this has been the best decision that I have made in my 11 year career and I know that I will be working for the RE/MAX Preferred office for many years to come. This isn't just a place to hang your license, it's a family.
I transferred to RE/MAX Preferred when they first opened in 2012. I’ve been more than happy with my decision and feel I have grown with the experience. I feel personally and professionally rewarded by the dynamic of the organization. Formerly an agent with a different RE/MAX franchise I know firsthand how the ownership structure and mission truly dictates the tempo of the office. The owners here create a welcoming and professional environment for their agents, past/current & future clients, affiliated business professionals and more. From my personal experience, they also welcome and promote a strong sense of family, since the owners and many of the agents have started young families themselves. The managers also create many opportunities to entertain and appreciate clients by hosting parties, fundraisers and networking events at out water front office. They built their business model around promoting and growing their agents and retaining good talent and top producers. Finally, there is unexplainable and overwhelming energy that I feel comes from my colleagues, other agents, and staff.
